DAY BY DAY
(B/L/D) = (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 1 → Chiang Mai – Sukhothai (-/-/-)
In the morning we pick you up and drive to our Service Center. You will have time to familiarize yourself with your motorcycle before you set off. There are nice bends and a pleasant riding environment in the morning. You ride some main roads and some rural roads passing many villages before you arrive in Sukhothai, which literally means “Dawn of Happiness”. It was capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries. Overnight in Sukhothai.
Day 2 → Sukothai - Mae Sot (B/-/-)
You should not miss to visit the Sukothai Heritage Park. The historical Sukothai, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, was the first capital of Siam. It was founded by King Ramkhamhaeng. The province's temples and monuments have been well restored and the park has numerous sites to explore. After the visit you proceed westwards to the province of Tak before you follow the remote winding road No. 1175 to Mae Sot. You will stay overnight in Mae Sot.
Day 3 → Mae Sot - Mae Sariang (B/-/-)
After breakfast you can drive to the nearby "Friendship Bridge" which links Mae Sot in Thailand with Myawaddy in Myanmar. You can even cross over by foot and visit the local market in Myawaddy (no visa required – subject to change). You then come back to Thailand cruising north on route 105 which runs along the border to Myanmar all the way to Mae Sariang. The road is winding and paved passing through many small communities like Mae Ramat, Tha Song Yang or Ban Sop Ngao. On the way you also pass a huge refugees camp where thousands of Burmese live. In the afternoon you reach Mae Sariang, a small town alongside the Yuam River. Enjoy the sunset by the bank of the Yuam River. You will overnight in Mae Sariang.
Day 4 → Mae Sariang - Mae Hong Son (B/-/-)
If you are an early riser you may visit the local morning market and give alms to the monks. The idea of the alms giving is for the Buddhist monks to make merit and also to collect food for their one meal of a day. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience an ancient Buddhist tradition. You reach early in your beautiful hotel. Enjoy the beautiful garden and the swimming pool in the afternoon. Overnight in Mae Hong Son.
Day 5 → Mae Hong Son - Ban Rak Thai - Pai (B/-/-)
In the morning we recommend a pleasant boat ride on Pai River to visit a Karen Long Neck village. The Karen, a tribal minority, historically lived in the hills on the Myanmar side of the border. Some of their women wear heavy brass rings around their necks, forearms, and shins. You then set out for the famously chic town of Pai on the beginning of the road famous for having 1,864 bends of varying sharpness. The road passes through some beautiful mountainous scenery. On the way you can do a little side trip to Ban Rak Thai (literally "the Thai-loving village"), built around a lake on the Myanmar border. About 800, mainly Chinese settled here after the communist takeover of China and some of the buildings have a distinctively Chinese appearance. In the afternoon you arrive in Pai. In the evening after dinner you may enjoy the delights of the Walking Street market. Overnight in Pai.
Day 6 → Pai - Chiang Mai(B/-/-)
A last great riding day is ahead of you of this comprehensive tour. In the morning you complete the “remaining” 762 twisties over the mountains to Mae Taeng. You then drive on rural back roads to the Mae Sa Elephant Camp. You can pay the amazing pachyderms a visit before you continue your journey on the Samoeng loop to enjoy more twisties. In the afternoon you arrive our Service Center in Chiang Mai. Transfer to your booked hotel.
